WESTFIELD- Richard E. Meyer, 81, of Westfield, MA passed away April 12, 2016. He was born in Binghamton, NY on June 21, 1934 to Lawrence and Margerie Meyer, predeceased by his wife Ann Marie (Halloran) Meyer, his twin brother Robert Meyer and his brother John Meyer. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Westfield, after high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Vulcan AR 5 during Korea. Richard retired from the City of Chicopee as a surveyor. He was a member of the American Legion Post 124 of Westfield, Sons of Erin and the Slovak Citizens Club. He was an avid metal detectorist and liked to play golf. He leaves dear friends, including Alan and Joan Schwartz, David strong, Michael Mihalek and Dan Regan, to name a few. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 9-10 a.m. in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St. Westfield followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield.
