Anna May Phelps

SOUTHWICK: Anna May (Bolio) Phelps, 99, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, November 27, 2014. She was born in Westfield on September 23, 1915 to the late George and Mary (Benda) Bolio. Anna was employed in the Southwick School Lunch Program from 1952 until her retirement in 1980 and was a member of the Senior Club in Southwick. In her earlier days she was governess to the newspaper heiress Judith Vance Weld Brown in New Britain, CT, worked as a nurse’s aid in Springfield Hospital, was a clerk at Jones’ Grocery Store in Southwick and waitressed at the Southwick Inn. She is survived by her loving son, Marcus Phelps and his wife Barbara of Southwick; two granddaughters Amy Phelps of Glen Mills, PA and Rebecca Wimmer and her husband Robert of Catonsville, MD; two great grandchildren, Duncan and Clarity Wimmer; her niece Eleanor Fanning; nephews, Jeffrey and Donald DeLance and Stanley Wilson; cousin Donna Lee Meehan; grandnieces, Ann Marie Buell and Pamela Baran and grandnephew Donald Kozmiuk. She was predeceased by her brother George Bolio and her sisters, Regina Purdy and Viola Rose DeLance. Anna’s funeral will be held on Friday, December 5, with visitation from 10-11AM in the Westfield Evangelical Free Church, 568 Southwick Rd. Westfield, MA 01085, with a service at 11 AM followed by burial in New Cemetery, College Highway, Southwick. Contributions in Anna’s name may be directed to the Southwick Ambulance Fund, P.O.
