Casimir J. Wisniowski

 
flagWestfield – Casimir J. Wisniowski, 92, (1923-2015) passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 in Westfield. Born to Bertha and John Wisniowski and raised in Chicopee, “Caz” was a graduate of Chicopee High School and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific on P.T. Boats 114 and 49. He moved to Westfield in 1950.

   He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church and a member of the American Legion Post 124 both of Westfield.

   “Caz” was a retired Tool and Die Maker for Rexnord Inc. and played violin, stand-up bass, and sang vocals for the Eddie Andrews Polka Orchestra and was a guest band member of many other bands, including Stanky and the Coal Miners of Pennsylvania.
   “Caz” enjoyed the polka life with his wife and dancing partner Wanda and was a devoted father, and Dzadzu. He was a humble, sweet man who never had a bad word for anyone, only a smile. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
He leaves his wife of 64 years, Wanda (Palivoda) Wisniowski. His son Glenn and wife Donna (Shea) of Westfield. A brother Walter (Gladys)
of Somers, CT. Two sisters, Julie McNiece (Patrick) of West Springfield, and Genevieve LaPorte of Florida. His grandchildren Jessica (Ray) Maynard and Nicholas Wisniowski and Great-granchildren Claire and Ashlyn Manynard, all of Westfield. “Caz” was predeceased by his son James in 2011, brothers Ted and Emil, sister-in-law Julie Wisniowski, and brother-in-law Bob LaPorte and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Friday, Jan. 30, 9:30 a.m. from the Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street – Rte. 20 followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Elm Street. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery all in Westfield.

Visiting hours are Thursday, Jan. 29, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
