				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>WESTFIELD &#8211; Kathleen S. Dulude, 71, of this city passed away peacefully on April 25, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Norman A. Dulude and May Leona (Blouin) Hoessler.<br />
Kathleen was employed at the former Digital Equipment Corp. in Westfield for many years. She had a marvelous laugh, a caring way and a genuine love for those she cared for. She loved nature and all its creatures and she especially loved her own animals. Kathleen (“Kathy”) will truly be missed by her family and friends.<br />
A graveside service for Kathleen will be held Friday, May 24, 2013 at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield. The Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street, Westfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.<br />
Memorial gifts can be made to the Westfield Homeless Cat Project (WHCP), 1124 East Mountain Road, MA 01085 who have so kindly taken in Kathleen’s cats to find new homes for them.</p>

He was born in Elk, Poland and has lived in Westfield for over fifty years.</div>
<div>Jesse was employed as a foreman at the Westfield Water Department, for twenty-five years retiring in 2011. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan an excellent father and loving husband. He was always the life of the party and lived every day to its fullest, never wanting to waste a moment. His hard work ethic and charm were just a couple of his great qualities that he passed on to his children.</div>
<div>Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Anne (Cennamo) Pilecki; two sons, Dallas and Dylan and a daughter, Crystal all of Westfield. He also leaves behind Dallas’ fiancée Jenna Sgambati; four sisters-in-law, Candy Morawiec and her husband Dennis, Cookie Liptak and her husband George, Joanne Romani and her husband Paul all of Westfield, and Denise Kane and her husband Thomas of West Springfield; his father-in-law, John Cennamo and his wife Sandy of Westfield.  Jesse is also leaving behind his granddaughter, Angelina who was his little angel and pride and joy; and several nieces and nephews. He is also leaving behind his dog Apollo, who will miss him and all the walks they shared. Jesse was predeceased by his parents, Boleslaw and Stanislawa (Stankiewicz) Pilecki and his amazing mother-in-law, Leila Litchfield and her husband Herbert. He also leaves two brothers and a sister.</div>
<div>The funeral and burial will be private.</div>
<div>In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jesse Pilecki Children’s College Fund in care of TD Bank, 60 Main Street, Westfield, MA 01085. Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield is in charge of the arrangements.</div>

Bushey, 22, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 16, 2013. He was born in Springfield on February 21, 1991, a son of the late Robert Bushey who passed away on July 21, 2010 and Ann Terhune of Westfield.</div>
<div>He was a lifelong resident and attended Westfield Vocational High School and was previously employed at various tree services in the area.</div>
<div>He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Green; grandmother, Lois Syriac; sister, Jeni Hoague; brother, Stevie Terhune; aunt and uncle, Doug and Glory Bushey; grandfather, Alan Richards Sr.; uncle, Alan Richards, Jr.; stepfather, Steven Terhune all of Westfield and will be sadly missed by two nieces and one nephew.</div>
<div>Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at the Legacy Funeral Home, 4 Princeton Street in Westfield.  Burial will follow at Middle Farms Cemetery, Russellville and North Roads in Westfield.</div>

She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Eugene and Mary (Forbes) Bedard and moved with her family to Rock Island, Quebec at an early age. She graduated from Stanstead College and the Bugbee Business School. An outstanding athlete, she played on the women’s ice hockey, field hockey and basketball teams.</div>
<div>She was a communicant of St Peters &amp; St Casimirs Catholic Church and served on many of the church committees. She was employed for many years at D’Addario’s Card Shop and Conner’s Book Store in Westfield. The family thanks the wonderful staff of Mont Marie Healthcare Center for their warm and compassionate care of Margaret in her final year.</div>
<div>Margaret married Frank D. Wallis of Westfield, MA in 1950 and moved to that city where she would live for the remainder of her life. She leaves her children, Richard and wife Sandra of Holyoke, Nancy of Vergennes, VT, Kathy Wallis-McCann and her husband James of Westfield, and David and his partner Gloria of Easthampton, and her granddaughter Jessica and great granddaughter Riley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Frank; her brother, Alfred of Derby Line, VT and her sister, Jean Humphrey.</div>
<div>The funeral for Margaret will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 10:00 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 22 State Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m.</div>
<div>In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 34 Lower Westfield Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.</div>

(Culp) Goguen, 74, peacefully passed away on May 18, 2013 at home. Nawita was born in Plainview, Texas, the daughter of the late Rev. Truman and Ruth (Pipken) Culp. She graduated from Readly High School, Readly, California with the class of 1957 and attended The Southern Baptist College of Readly.<br />
Nawita was employed by the Spra-Gro Fertilizer Company of Clovis, New Mexico as an accountant for 5 years. She moved to Massachusetts with her husband in 1969 and was employed by Tran-Tex Corp of Springfield, MA. She was also employed by Chapin &amp; Hukawica and Morin &amp; O’Shea Accountant Firms of Westfield, MA. She was last employed by Westfield Auto Parts of Westfield, from where she retired in 2001. Nawita was an active member of Our Lady of the Lake Church, Southwick; serving as a member of the Church Pastoral Council.<br />
She was the wife of 48 years to Roger J. Goguen. Nawita also leaves her two grandchildren, Brandy and Haleigh Goguen, both of New Mexico; her good friends, Gregory and Kimberly Heath of Westfield; nieces and nephews. Nawita was predeceased by her 3 sons, Roger D. Goguen and Edward A. Goguen both of Clovis, New Mexico and Eric J. Goguen of Westfield.<br />
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23rd from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Highway 202 and 10, Southwick (413) 569-5306.<br />
Ceremonies will begin at 12:00 noon in the funeral home to be followed by a procession to Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick for a Liturgy of Christian Burial, celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Nawita will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield.</div>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>HUNTINGTON &#8211; Gary C. Smith, 71, a lifelong resident of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was the son of the late, Stanley Smith and Florys (Williston) Smith.</div>
<div>He was a graduate of Smith Vocational School in Northampton. After graduation, he was employed by Munson Auto Parts in Northampton for five years before serving in the U.S. Army stationed at Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas. He retired from Westfield Auto Parts.</div>
<div>Gary is survived by his sister, Sandra E. Kriesak and her husband William of Westfield and a cousin, Gregory Smith.  He was predeceased by his brother, Robert “R.A.” Smith in 2008.</div>
<div>Per Gary’s wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral service.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.</div>
<div>Donations in Gary’s memory may be made to the Hilltown Ambulance Fund, 1 Bromley Road, Huntington, MA 01050 or to the Norwich Bridge Cemetery Association, c/o Jean Garriepy, 64 Worthington Road, Huntington, MA  01050. O’Brien Hilltown Community Funeral Home in Huntington is in charge of the arrangements.</div>

Musterait Sr. of Westfield passed away peacefully Thursday evening May 16, 2013 at the Genesis Healthcare Westfield Center. Mr. Musterait was born on February 9, 1916, he was the second of four sons of the late Louis and Julia (Wolfe) Musterait.</div>
<div>Ernest lived a full life traveling throughout much of the world as part of his occupation. He was married to the former Anne E, Kittel of Woronoco, MA who passed away in December of 1998. Ernest attended schools in Westfield. At the Green District School he learned the trade of Machinist. He worked for a number of firms in the greater Springfield and Hartford area. Pratt Whitney, Colt Arms, Van Norman Industries and Bryant Machine. While at Bryant he began his traveling to client sites installing large ball bearing race machinery. His occupation required him to travel to England, Ireland, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, South Korea, Canada as well many states in the US especially California and Ohio when he loved to visit with his brother-in-law who lived there. He once told me that one of his favorite spots was Bologna, Italy.</div>
<div>Ernest was an outdoors person who loved his bird dogs. When he was younger one could always find him pheasant hunting in cover around Westfield, Southwick, Northampton or South Hadley. He also enjoyed spring trout fishing in the Berkshire lakes. Once he retired he became more involved with his church in Westfield. St. John&#8217;s Lutheran Church where he was an elder for a number of years and Church Counsel President. He was a simple man with a strong commitment to family and his church.</div>
<div>Mr. Musterait was predeceased by his three brothers; Edwin, Richard and Frederick. Surviving family members include his two sons, Ernest F. Musterait Jr. and his wife Dee who lived with him and cared for him for years and Ronald R. Musterait of Andover, Ma and his wife Peggy formally Peggy Kriesak of Westfield. Ernest has five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.</div>
<div>The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. 01085. Calling hours will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on May 21 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. with service at 11:00 a.m.</div>
<div>Donations in Ernest&#8217;s memory may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or to St. Johns Cemetery Association, 60 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085.<br />

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>WESTFIELD &#8211; George R. Sherman, 80, died, Friday, May 17, 2013 in a local nursing home. He was born on January 19, 1933 in Westfield to Clarence and Mabel (Nelson) Sherman.</div>
<div>George attended local schools and graduated from Westfield High School in 1951. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. George was a letter carrier for the Westfield Post Office, retiring in 1988. He was an avid golfer at the Southwick Country Club, an avid Red Sox and Boston sports fan, a member of American Legion Post 124 and a member of the Central Baptist Church.</div>
<div>He leaves his wife, Florence (Carr) Sherman; daughter, Debbie Sherman and his sister-in-law, June Carr.</div>
<div>Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.</div>

He was born in Victorville, CA on February 5, 1957.</div>
<div>He was brought up and schooled there and he later attended UCLA.  He was an accomplished musician and played guitar for many bands across the country over the years.</div>
<div>He was the father of Jerrod R. Stevens of Southwick, Derek M. Stevens and his fiancée Brittany Ramah of West Springfield, Samantha M. Stevens and Ashley A. Stevens both of Springfield, and Vincent L. Stevens of TX, longtime companion of Amy Kern of Westfield, grandfather of Samuel A. Jeffers, and he was previously married to Tina M. (Parentela) Stevens. He will be especially missed by his bird &#8220;Hatchet&#8221;, who had been with him for 18 years.</div>
<div>All Funeral Services will be private and burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.</div>
<div>In lieu of flowers donations in Robert’s memory may be made to Suffield Music, c/o Josh Friend, 68 Bridge Street, Suffield, CT 06078.</div>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>WESTFIELD &#8211; Mary Vilece, 92, died Friday, May 10, 2013. She was born in Boston, MA on May 29, 1920 to the late Carmen and Rosina (Fasano) Vilece. She has resided in Westfield for over twenty years, and previously lived in the eastern part of the state.</div>
<div>She leaves behind many family and friends with whom she lived. With their love and support, Mary always enjoyed life to the fullest, and would bring a smile to all who knew her with the twinkle in her eye.</div>
<div>Her guardian, Mark Doane, wishes to gratefully acknowledge all that her family and friends have done for her to allow her to achieve 92 years of life.</div>
<div>The funeral for Mary will be held on Monday, May 20th at 11:00 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. A Calling hour will precede the service on Monday morning from 10:00-11:00 a.m.</div>
<div>Donations may be made in memory of Mary to 700 Western Avenue, c/o Timothy O’Connor, Westfield, MA 01085.</div>
