Catherine A. Bull

Topsham, Maine: Catherine A. Bull, 60, of Merganser Lane, died Monday, October 20, 2014 at her home. She was born in Springfield, VT., April 12, 1954 the daughter of Alwyn Gale and Margaret Richardson Gale.  She was a graduate of Longmeadow High School in MA.  Catherine served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electrician, where she met her husband to be Walter L. Bull.  They were married in Folkston, GA July 30, 1981 and lived in Jacksonville, FL. and then Sigonella, Sicily prior to moving to Topsham in 1991. She was an accomplished softball player into her late 40’s and enjoyed all types of outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking and snow shoeing. Cathy was an active member of the Sage Square & Round Dance Club in Brunswick, Maine and was known throughout the New England Square Dance community for her selfless devotion to the activity, willingness to help anytime, anywhere and in whatevermanner was required for anyone needing assistance. Her devotion to the needs of others led to a CNA certification later in life and employment at the Mid Coast Senior Health Center and private duty to many area residents as a self employed home health care provider.  It was often said by people she came in contact with that Cathy’s dedication and service to others was unmatched by anyone they had ever met. Catherine is survived by her husband of Topsham; a son Daniel P. Bull of Topsham; a daughter Jessica L. Bull of Kennebunk; two brothers, Rick Gale of Longmeadow, MA and Philip Gale of Vershire, VT and a sister Marcia Penley of Marshfield, VT.. A service to remember and to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick, Maine.
