WESTFIELD – The Saints have turned a few more pages, five in fact, closer to an historic chapter in one player’s lacrosse career at St. Mary High.
St. Mary senior Lauren Chapdelaine scored five goals and had one assist in her girls’ lacrosse team’s 18-10 loss to Lee Thursday at Boardman Field.
The senior Saint needs just three goals to reach 100 for her high school career.
Lee’s Alyssa Kelly paced all scorers with eight goals. Meryl Phair had four, and six others finished with one apiece.
Jillian Watson (2 goals, 2 assists) and Aisling Butler (3 goals) accounted for the other St. Mary scores.
Lee goalie Liz Consolati made six saves. St. Mary’s netminder Carly Woodruff finished with 11.
The halftime score favored Lee, 10-3.

Agawam 17, Westfield 4
Martin’s 8 goals sinks WHS
Agawam speedster Katie Martin scored eight goals to lead all scorers, and Jackie Nielson added five as Westfield struggled to keep pace.
“(Katie) is a bolt of lightning,” Westfield coach Paul Fenwick said. “She’s that fast, and she’s got good stick skills. We’ couldn’t match her speed.”
Rachel Gelina, Marissa Otero, Sara Kane, and Katrina Arona scored one goal apiece for Westfield (7-7). Bombers’ goalie Maline Kozak finished with seven saves.
Agawam goalie Kristina Tran had 10.

SOFTBALL
Kowalski homers twice
Agawam 16, Westfield 7
Brittany Kowalaski hit two bombs, Samantha Schieppe went 2-for-2 with two doubles, and Rachel Swords finished 3-for-4 for Westfield.
“This was a solid game for us against a good hitting team – one of the best in Western Mass.,” Westfield coach Mary Seid said. “We are coming together near the end of the season, which shows just how much this team has grown this season. I expect us to finish strong with some ‘W’s’ in this last week of play.”

Tristin Viale won a great match at first singles for Westfield, 6-1, 6-0. Bombers’ second singles player, Lyle Libanan produced another fantastic result, winning 6-6, 6-3.

GIRLS’ TRACK & FIELD
Rams bounce O’s
Southwick 79, Belchertown 57
Southwick produced several winners in Thursday’s home meet, including Emily Giancola (100 meters, 13.6), Lexie Klinkowski (100 hurdles, 18.0), Ashley Consolini (400 hurdles, 1:13.5), Emily McKinney (800 meters, 2:35.2), Caroline Clarke (1 mile, 6:12.5), Sarah Bodzinski (shot put, 27-1), and Mikaela Martell (javelin, 79-9).
The Rams’ 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams also won in 54.5 seconds and 4:42.6, respectively.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Sensational senior night
Westfield def. Agawam 25-14, 25-20, 13-25, 25-19

Westfield clinched at least a share of the North League with a victory on senior night.
Manny Golob (17 kills), Eric Shilyuk (31 assists), Dmitriy Doroshenko (28 digs), Manny Golob (19 kills), and Ryan Bucko (13 kills) paved the way for the Bombers.
