Chester S. Lesniewski

WESTFIELD – Chester S. Lesniewski, 91, of Westfield died Monday, December 24, 2012 in the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke. He was born in Westfield on September 17, 1921 to Stefan and Antoinette (Rychlik) Lesniewski.
Chester was a graduate of Westfield Trade School and was a WWII Coast Guard Veteran. He was employed as a store keeper for Western Mass Hospital for fourteen years, retiring in 1983. Prior to Western Mass, he was a papermaker for the former Stevens Paper Mill in Westfield for twenty-seven years. Chester was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and collecting sea glass.
He was the widower of Lillian L. (Kylis) Lesniewski who died on September 6, 2009. Chester leaves two daughters, Diane Simonowicz and her husband Joseph of Chester and Judith Pickford and her husband Mark of Westfield; five grandchildren, Joseph Simonowicz and his wife Patricia, Kevin Simonowicz, Scott Burke and his wife Tracey, Meagan Miller and her husband Craig and Kirsten Pickford, and six great-grandchildren, Adam, Joseph and Elizabeth Simonowicz, Aaron and Quinn Burke and Kyle Miller. He was predeceased by two brothers, Thaddeus and Joseph Lesniewski and two sisters, Helen Babinski and Jennie Osowski. The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Holyoke Soldier’s Home.
The funeral will be Saturday, December 30, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
