Cynthia A. Breton

WESTFIELD – Cynthia “Cindy” Ann (Currier) Breton, 54, died on September 28, 2016 at her family home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with breast and bone cancer. She was born in Hartford, Conneticut, the daughter of Mary (Webster) and the late Bernard Currier on October 2, 1961.  She lived in Southwick throughout her childhood, and graduated from Southwick High School in 1979.  She was employed by Big Y, and retired in June after 30 years of service. She started in the Southwick store, and worked in various other stores before becoming the Receiver Specialist and worked out of the Support Center in Springfield. Cindy was an avid Red Sox fan, loved going to the lake in Maine to the family cottage, loved going to the casinos, and her scratch tickets.  She enjoyed playing cards, especially canasta and pitch.  She played in the Thursday night Pitch League for many years in Southwick, then Westfield.  Cindy leaves her beloved husband of 35 years, David A Breton and her loving daughters, Sonya Marie Murray of Westfield and Melissa Marie Cunningham and her husband Daniel of Westfield. Cindy adored and cherished her grandchildren, known as grandma to Damon Cunningham, and Haley Lynn Murray and Mema to Jacob Thomas Murray. Cindy loved playing with her grandchildren in the backyard pool or on the boat in Maine.  She will be sadly missed by her mother, Mary and sisters Roxanne Cook and fiancé George Zanolli and Patricia Banasik and her husband Theodore of Southwick.  She leaves her Aunts Marie and Altene of Maine and her Uncle George and Aunt Joan of Enfield, CT. In addition, she leaves behind many fun loving cousins from Maine, Connecticut, North Carolina and Texas.  She also leaves her Sister-in-laws Susan Rowe and her husband Roy, of Brimfield, Kathy Berard of Chicopee, Kathy Antaya of Rhode Island; her brother-in-law’s, Lawrence Breton and his wife Bernice of North Carolina, George Berard of Ontario, Canada and Paul Berard and his wife Cathy of Westfield, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, her grandparents Mary and George Webster and Charles and Ethel Currier, mother-in-law, Norma Berard, father-in-law, Norman Breton, sister-in-law’s Virginia and Patricia Berard, and brother-in-law Michael Sullivan.

Funeral services for Cindy will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 2 PM at Southwick Congregational Church, 488 College Highway, Southwick, MA 01077 with burial to follow in New Cemetery. Friends and family may gather on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home 624 College Highway, Southwick from 3-6 PM.
