David K. Williams

WESTFIELD – ‘Dave’ passed away peacefully in the company of his beloved granddaughter on November 17, 2017, at Massachusetts General Hospital – Boston, MA.  He was born on December 15, 1942 in Utica, NY to Gerald and Margaret Williams and graduated from Pompton Lakes High School – Pompton Lakes, NJ.  His love for aviation quickly became his 40-year career, beginning in Vero Beach, FL as a mechanic with Piper Aircraft, then Central Flying Service of Little Rock, AR with the same occupation. In 1997, he relocated with his family to Massachusetts to continue his career: managing the Falcon Jet program for Gulfstream Aerospace (General Dynamics Aviation Services – Westfield, MA) until his retirement. After retirement, he worked for several years at Industrial Precision, Inc. (Westfield, MA) as a parts inspector.

Dave is survived by Melinda, his devoted wife of 40 years (formerly of Tishimingo, MS), who he cherished always. He also leaves 2 loving daughters (Susie and Kim), 1 son (Lee), 1 step-son (Michael), and 9 cherished grandchildren (Tiffani, Allie, Austin, Blake, Kira, Erica, Elena, Christian & Emmie). He leaves 4 sisters (Karen, Peggy, Jerrylea & Terri) and 1 brother (Michael).  His brother Peter and sister Becky have pre-deceased him. His parents, Gerald and Margaret Williams of Dexter, ME, are also deceased.

David leaves behind many neighbors, friends, and church family from both the Chicopee Church of Christ, and West Springfield Church of Christ – Pastor Gareth Flanary & his family.

It was Dave’s wish to have a combined graveside service with his wife at Burns Cemetery in Maud, Alabama. As she survives him, the services will be arranged at the time of her passing. Memorial contributions may be made to Melinda, his wife, at: 185 Main Street, Amesbury, MA 01913.

We are heartbroken to have lost him, but as deep as our heartbreak is -we feel blessed. We couldn’t feel pain this deep without having loved him with all our hearts. We’re fortunate to have had someone in life worth loving so much.He is safe in our hearts now, forever.
