Eleanor A. Lazarz

WESTFIELD: Eleanor A. Lazarz, 88, of Hamilton, passed away at home on Friday, November 21, 2014. Born in Westfield, Massachusetts, she was a Trenton-area resident since 1954.

Eleanor retired from the State of New Jersey, Clerk of the Superior Court – Finance after more than 25 years of service. She was the 2001 Fire Woman of the year in Mercer County as well as a 50-year volunteer for the DeCou Fire Department and its Ladies’ Auxiliary. Eleanor was a longtime member of the Hamilton Senior Citizens, the Hamilton Star Lighters, the Hamilton Sunshiners, and the Hamilton Township Senior Coalition. She was also a founding member of the Mercer Street Friends Center. In her spare time, she was an avid bowler who won many awards and trophies through the years. She also enjoyed road trips with friends to Broadway and Atlantic City. Most of all, she loved spending time and vacationing with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She opened her heart to everyone she met and her infectious laugh will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Daughter of the late Frank and Sophie Stanselski Capan, she is survived by her four children and their spouses, Mary-Ann McCabe and her husband Dennis, Carol-Ann Hollows and her husband Bruce, Martin H. Lazarz and his wife Cheryl, and Jo-Ann Trzaska and her husband Thomas; her sister Barbara White and her husband Richard, and their children Richard and Wendy of Westfield, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Nicole Graham (Jack), Jennifer Fisher (Mark), Jason Lazarz, Brian Hollows, Dennis McCabe(Elisabeth), Brynn Hollows (Randy Samson), Michael McCabe and his fiancé Lauren Lypen; four great-grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as GiGi, Brendan and Carly Ella Fisher, Jack Graham, and Bennett McCabe.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. from the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Church. Entombment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may call on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Buklad Memorial Chapel in Yardville.
