Elsa Madera

Westfield – Elsa (Torres) Madera, 77, (1939-2017) was called home on April 22, 2017. Elsa was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico to the late Eulogio and Adneda (Suliveres) Torres. She was employed as a fabric cutter for over 20 years at The Lyman Company in Chicopee and retired in the late 80’s as a home care aide. Elsa was predeceased by her beloved husband Erasmo Madera, of more than 50 years, in 2006, two brothers, Eliseo “Lee” Torres and Eugene Torres and two sisters Edicta Torres and Evelyn Torres. She is survived by her loving children, Jose Antonio Madera of Arizona, Albert Madera and his wife Lisa of New Mexico, Elsie Matos, Beatrice Matos, both of Westfield and Rosie E. Madera, of Chicopee, three brothers, Eduardo Torres, Eulogio Torres, Jr. and Eulogio Felix, two sisters, Eulalia “Lula” Torres and Erodina Ramos, 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was an active member of her church, sharing her love of singing, there and at home. She was a great storyteller and loved her family.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Wednesday at 10AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the funeral home.
