Fairman named to 2012 All State Soccer Team

BROOKE FAIRMAN

HUNTINGTON – Brooke Fairman, the standout goalie for the Gateway Regional High School varsity girls’ soccer team, was named to the All-State Soccer Team for the second time in her high school career. The award was announced at a ceremony last month at the Elmcrest Country Club in East Longmeadow.
Brooke was the starting varsity goalie all four years of high school. She helped bring her team to two Western Massachusetts titles, a state-finalist title, and Western Mass runner-up this year.
Her coach, Steve Estelle, said the award was fitting for a player of Brooke’s caliber.
“Brooke deserves all of the awards she is given,” Estelle said. “She is an exceptional athlete, a quiet, strong leader who leads by example and a wonderful individual. It has been an honor to be her coach.”
Fairman finished her career with 47 shutouts.
She plans to pursue a degree in sports management. Her top college choice is Springfield College, where she hopes to continue her soccer career.
