Westfield – 
George J. “Jay” Hickson, Jr., 70, passed away on June 20, 2017 at home. He was born in Springfield to the late Ruth (Purcell) and George J. Hickson, Sr. He was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s HS Class of 1964 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College. He served his country during Vietnam from 1968-1970 as a 1st Lieutenant in Armored Recon Unit. Jay was employed as Vice President of Marketing for Stanley Home Products for over 40 years. He enjoyed golf, cards, volunteering his time to local schools as scorekeeper for basketball and service to St. Mary’s Church. Jay is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Mary-Rose (Keenan) Hickson of Westfield, his loving children Jay T. Hickson and his wife Beatriz of Rochester, MI and Kathleen M. Masone and her husband Ronald, Jr. of Mt. Sinai, NY, his siblings, Marie A. Kaleta and her late husband Stanley of Southampton, Paul T. Hickson and his wife Mary of Westfield, Robert C. Hickson with Meg Maynard of Westfield and June P. Schladenhauffen and her husband Paul of Pooler, GA, his cherished grandchildren, Isabel, Joseph, Sophia and Michael and many nieces and nephews.
Jay’s funeral will be held on Monday meeting at St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St. Westfield for a Mass at 9:30 AM with burial with Military Honors to follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam, MA 01001. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085.
