RUSSELL – 
Harriet N. (Branford) Prater, 97, a lifelong resident of Palmer, passed away at her daughter’s home on August 13, 2016. She was born in Palmer, daughter of the late Edward and Millie (Waite) Branford, and she had the distinction of being the oldest member of St. Paul’s Unitarian Universalist Church. She was the wife of Carl R. Prater, who passed away in 1993.
She is survived by her daughter Holly Prater, of Russell; four nephews, James Haley, Jr., Scott Haley, Bruce Haley, and Rick Prater, all of Palmer; and four nieces. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister Carolyn Haley.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Unitarian Universalist Church, 1060 Central St., Palmer. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Palmer Public Library, 1455 N. Main St., Palmer, MA 01069. Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements.
