Henry J. Tenerowicz

flagNATICK, MA: Henry J. Tenerowicz, 92, passed away in Metro West Hospital in Natick, Saturday, March 28, 2015. He was born in Westfield, MA and was a graduate of the Westfield School System. Henry was a United States Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, he served in the CBI Theatre as an engineer gunner on B25 bombers. He received the Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, American Service Award and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. He was on the Club 25 basketball team of Westfield that won the 1941 Daily News Basketball Tourney. He also played baseball for the club. Henry was a graduate of the Mass R&T Electronic School of Boston. He also pursued studies at Westfield State College and University of Mass. He was a supervisor in the engineering department for WHYN AM/FM and Channel 40 for 15 years. Henry was involved with the installation of Channel 40’s first transmitter and associated equipment on Mt. Tom. Henry was the holder of a registered Broadcast License Engineer issued by the Federal Communications Commission. He received his Mass Vocational Teacher’s Certification in electronics at Fitchburg State College in 1963 and was an electronics instructor at Westfield Vocational Tech High School, retiring in 1982. He was also a State Voc. Examiner of prospective electronic teachers. Henry was a member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield, the Greater Springfield Ostomy Assoc., Retired State County Retired Municipal Employee’s Assoc., Western Hampden County Retired Teacher’s Assoc., AARP, NCPSM, St. Anne Country Club and Mass Senior Thursday Golf League at Tekoa CC. Henry leaves his wife of 68 years, Isabella (Wasik) Tenerowicz, his three daughters, Linda Dunn and her husband, John of Plainville, MA, Laura Tenero of Andover, MA and AnnMarie Tenero of Boston, MA, a sister Jean Murphy of Westfield, a brother, Edward Tenero of Chicopee, and six grandchildren, Sydney Tenero-Durand, Nathan Stoetzel, Alexandra Stoetzel, Meredith Faletra, Christopher Dunn and Hillary Dunn and 4 great grandchildren, Anthony Faletra, Mia Faletra, Leif Stoetzel and Ivy Stoetzel. He was predecease by a sister Helen Dubois and two brothers, Stanley “Toby” Tenero and John “Jack” Tenero. Henry’s Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11AM in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Westfield followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will preceded the Mass from 9-10:30AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA.
