Irene Gosselin

WESTFIELD – Irene Lydia (Morin) Gosselin was called home to Jesus on May 19, 2015. She was born on October 14, 1920 to Ulric and Alice (Lavoie) Morin in Kingsey Falls, Quebec, Canada. She lived in Westfield for the past 60 years. She was married to the late Romeo Gosselin for 42 years. She was predeceased by her infant son Neil, her daughter-in-law, Sharon Merlo-Gosselin, 6 brothers and 3 sisters, all from Quebec, Canada. She leaves her beloved children, Yvette “Aurore” Juke of Holyoke, MA, Marcel Gosselin and his wife Betty of Chicopee, MA, Lawrence Gosselin and his wife Joanne of Westfield, MA, Veronique “Nicky” Holloway and her husband Richard of Chicopee, MA, and Neilda Henke and her husband Mark of Southwick, MA. “Mem” will live on forever in the hearts of her 10 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. “Grand Memere” will also live on forever in the hearts of her 3 great great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends who loving called her “Mem”. Her greatest times and blessings were the times she spent with her family. Irene worked for 4 years as a clerk for the former W.T. Grants Store of Westfield, and for 6 years for the former Ames Department Store of Westfield. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Westfield. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM from the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM. Donations in Irene’s name may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
