James M. Kelly

SOUTHAMPTON: James M. Kelly, 66, of Brickyard Road passed away on April 15, 2015 at Bay State Medical Center.  Born in Waltham, MA and is the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Mahoney) Kelly.  He had worked for 30 years for the Mass Turnpike Maintenance Department and retired as a supervisor in 1998. After retirement he had worked for his son Brian at Westfield Home and Garden.

Jim loved Southampton where he called home for 43 years. He was fortunate to have his sons settle in Southampton as well. It was the simple things that brought him pleasure; working in his yard, sitting on his porch, golfing, fishing, getting together with friends and his little dog Maggie. He loved family first and attending his grand children’s events. His favorite time was spent on beach vacations with Barbara.

James leaves his beloved wife of 46 years Barbara (West) Kelly, his two sons Sean M. Kelly and his wife Jennifer and Brian P. Kelly and his wife Stacey all of Southampton, his brother Robert Kelly and his wife Natalie of Peterborough, NH, his sisters Paula Macrae and her husband David of Weare, NH and Barbara Bye and her husband Jeffrey of New Harford, CT, his grandchildren Jacquelyn, Alexis, Michael and Patrick Kelly, several nieces, nephews and good friends.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at the Boucher-O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant Street, Easthampton followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of The Valley Church, 33 Adams Street, Easthampton. Burial will be in Southampton Center Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00.  In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Pan-Mass Challenge or The Jimmy Fund, c/o Brian Kelly, 7 Katelyn Way, Southampton, MA 01073
