James P. Hebert

WESTFIELD- James P Hebert, 59, of Westfield was called Home Thursday, Nov.30,2017 at Baystate Medical Center after a long illness. He was born Feb.3, 1958, in Holyoke, the son of Jeannette G. and the late Raymond J. Hebert, Jr. of Hatfield. He was a butcher working for local businesses and finished his career where he started at the North Elm Butcher Block. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, raising German Shepherds, and spending time with good friends and family. He loved his Harleys and the lifestyle that came with them. He also loved to read about history, listening to Rock and Roll, and the Blues. Jim was a jokester, always entertaining people with quick one-liners and clowning around. He will be remembered as a kind and loving man with a great sense of humor and a big heart.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie (Gelgut) Hebert. Two step-daughters, Allyson and Sarah Nemec of Westfield, his mother, a sister Debbie Kabat and husband Hank, a sister Patty Hentz and husband John, a brother Gary and wife Kristen Hebert of Hatfield, a brother Michael and wife Joyce Hebert of Auburn, California, Sisters in law Jackie Gelgut of Westfield, and Patti and husband Mike Mezzetti of Chicopee. He was predeceased by his first wife Linda in 2009. He also leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and close friends.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Dec. 5th at Firtion Adams Funeral Home in Westfield from 4-7 pm. The Funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 6th at 10 am at Holy Trinity Church in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
