Janet R. Bull

Westfield – Janet R. (King) Bull, 89, (1926-2016) lifelong resident of Westfield, died Thursday, surrounded by her family.

Janet was a registered nurse and educator who taught medical-surgical and psychological nursing at Holyoke Community College, as well as being a teacher for blind veterans at the VA in Leeds, MA. She worked as an RN at the Institute of Living in Hartford, CT, and at Blue Hills Hospital also in Hartford, managing the Drug Detoxification Unit, which she later retired from in 1993.

Janet was a 1944 graduate of Westfield High School, and went onto Mercy Nursing School. She then received her Master’s Degree from The University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

She was a long time communicant of First Congregational Church of Westfield. She leaves behind her son, Charles J. Bull of Westfield; her five grandchildren, Christopher M. Bull and Keith M. Bull of Blandford, MA,  Melissa L. (Bull) Supinski of Westfield, MA; Nicholas A. Bull of West Springfield, MA and Sarah J (Bull) Powers of Sarasota, FL. Janet also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and six great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents Charles F. King and Stella (Cochrane) King; her three siblings, William L. King and Judith (King) Graham both of Westfield, and Donald C. King of South Carolina; and daughter-in-law, Therese M. (Powers) Bull of Westfield.

Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
