John A. Babinski

WESTFIELD – flagJohn A. Babinski, 94, passed away on July 21, 2106 at Westfield Gardens. He was born in Westfield to the late Andrew and Stefania (Kwapien) Babinski and attended Westfield Trade School and Westfield High School. He served his country with the United States Army Air Corps from 1942-1945, serving in England, France, Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany. John was a firefighter for the City of Westfield for 30 years and retired in 1980. He also worked for Westfield Tool and Die, as a tool and die maker and was a member of the Westfield Firefighters Association. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. John was predeceased by his beloved wife Ann C. (Mobrice) Babinski in 2002, and is survived by his four loving children, Michael P. Babinski of Haysville, Kansas, John M. Babinski of Dothan, Alabama, Barbara Ann Lees and Shirley M. Lucas, both of Westfield, his brother, Charles Babinski of Westfield. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his siblings Casimir Babinski, Joseph Babinski, William Babinski , Rose Schenna, Julia St. Jean and Helen Jamrogowicz. Burial with Military Honors will take place in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam, Tuesday at 3 p.m.Visiting hours will be held on Monday July 25th from 4-7 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085.
