John X. Florek, Sr.

WESTFIELD: John Xavier Florek, Sr., 88, a lifelong resident of Westfield died Friday in Baystate  Noble Hospital. He was born in Westfield on the family farm on October 29, 1927 the son of the late Kazimierz and Victoria (Welgus) Florek and was educated in Westfield schools. John was a lifelong dairy farmer and Florek’s Dairy Farm is now in its fourth generation of business. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years Jessica (Rood) Florek, four sons, John Jr., and his wife Jo Ann of Westfield, James and his wife Mary of Westfield, Jeffrey Sr., and his wife Carolyn of Southampton, and Jason and his wife Deborah of Westfield, three daughters, Janet Cox  and her husband Matthew of Marblehead, Joan Gladding and her husband Stephen of Westfield, Jacquelyn Gleason and her husband Robert Sr. of Wilbraham, his two brothers, William and his wife Jean of Westfield, and Charles and his wife Bernice of Westhampton. John also leaves his sixteen grandchildren, Alex, Jennifer, Emily, Christopher, Michelle, Jessica, Timothy, Douglas, Shane, Robert Jr., Colin, Jeffrey, Jr., Rebecca, Kaleigh, Hannah, and Frank. He also leaves his great-grandson, Hunter. Calling hours will be held at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield on Thursday from 5pm until 8pm.  Burial will be private.
