Marcia Gallo

Wyoming – Marcia Gallo passed away peacefully on May 24, 2017 with her husband John by her side.

She was born on March 3, 1944, the oldest of four children, to the late Gordon Schlosser and wife Falice (Holcomb).  She leaves her siblings Patricia (Michael) Barron of Arizona; Morton (Terry) Tripp of Oregon and Earl Tripp of Massachusetts.

Marcia loved the great outdoors and the country way of life.  She was raised in Granville, MA at the base of the Berkshire Mountains. Growing up she enjoyed helping her grandparents in their apple orchard while assisting her parents milking cows on the family farm.

In 1978, Marcia married John Gallo.  They were constant companions raising four children, while working in partnership in their many business endeavors which included the Oldsmobile/GMC truck dealership in Westfield, MA; the liquor store and Peter & Jon’s Gourmet Ice-cream shop in Huntington, MA. It was a love affair that lasted forty-three years.  She leaves four children: Shawn Gallo of Westfield; Susan (Steve) Cabral and Steven Holub of Housatonic, MA; Laurie(Gregg ) Taillefer of Mt. Green, Utah; and two grandchildren Stephanie and Samantha Cabral of Housatonic, MA.

While growing up, Marcia spoke often about her desire to live in the West on a cattle ranch with many horses.  In 2005, John & Marsha moved to Star Valley, Wyoming where she began to fulfill her childhood dream.  Though she never had cattle, she spent many hours in the saddle enjoying her horses with a faithful dog by her side.  One of Marcia’s favorite horse rides was to Bailey Lake where she would relax with a fishing pole in hand. The western way of life inspired her to hunt antelope.  Marcia’s marksmanship landed her a trophy every year with one shot.

Marcia worked at the Star Valley Assisted Living Center in Afton, WY.  She developed many dear friendships with those who lived there.  Retirement was difficult, as she shed many tears saying her goodbyes.

Marcia found great happiness in insignificant details, grooming her horses, giving treats to her dogs, her love of talking, sharing & caring for all those who came in contact with her.  We will always be inspired by the memories of her kindness, her friendship, and the joy of life she brought to all.

Anyone wishing, can make contributions to Huntsman Cancer Institute, Salt Lake City, Utah in Marcia Gallo’s name.
