WESTFIELD – Noble Hospital hosted a volunteer appreciation luncheon on Thursday, April 25 at East Mountain Country Club. The luncheon has been held each year in honor of Noble’s volunteers and to celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 22 to 26, 2013.
Last year, 77 volunteers gave more than 97,075 hours of service to Noble Hospital. Many of our volunteers have given generously of their time and talents for over 10 years.
This year, among many others, Noble Hospital recognized four individuals who have reached significant milestones in their volunteer hours:

Barbara Ross 14,586 hours
Jack Wolfe 10,631 hours
Joan Clendenin 6,588 hours
Ellie Shattuck 5,234 hours

Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week has grown exponentially in scope each year since, drawing the support and endorsement of U.S. presidents, governors, mayors and other respected elected officials. National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. It’s about demonstrating to the nation that by working together, in unison, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals. National Volunteer Week is also about taking action, encouraging individuals and their respective communities to be at the center of social change—discovering and actively demonstrating their collective power to foster positive transformation.
