1:59 a.m.: assist resident, Noble Hospital Emergency Department, Court Street, a caller from the hospital requests assistance for a discharged patient who has no way to return home, the responding officer reports the patient was provided a courtesy transport to a McKinley Terrace address;
2:11 a.m.: harassment, Springfield Road, a caller reports that she was harassed in the parking lot of a Springfield Road department store, the responding officer reports the complainant said that a former co-worker harassed her while she was in her car in the parking lot, the woman said that she has previously reported harassment by the man and asked that the current incident be documented to bolster her application for a protective order;
2:38 a.m.: assist resident, Noble Hospital Emergency Department, Court Street, a caller from the hospital requests assistnce for a discharged patient who has no way to return home, the responding officer reports the patient was provided a courtesy transport to a Sackett Street address;
6:47 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Sterling Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at excessive speed and stopped it, the officer reports the operator’s license was found to have been revoked as a habitual traffic offender, Aaron Paul Rosenfield, 27, of 353 South Lane, Granville, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as a habitual traffic offender, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
7:21 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be operated by a person with a suspended license, a criminal complaint was filed and , the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
8:30 a.m.: breaking and entering, Southampton Road, a caller from a Southampton Road restaurant reports the restaurant was broken into overnight, the responding officer reports the owner said that property including tools belonging to workers renovating the building and the security camera were stolen;
10:39 a.m.: larceny, North Elm Street a caller reports the frame for a firearm is unaccounted for, the responding officer reports he spoke with the caller and a representative of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and was told that the gun frame had apparently been delivered to the company for plating in 2008 and is not accounted for, the officer reports the caller said that the gun frame may have been destroyed during processing;
11:02 a.m.: found property, Western Avenue, a caller reports finding a hypodermic syringe on the side of the road, the responding officer reports the item was disposed of safely;
11:13 a.m.: notification, Summer Street, officers attempting to serve an identified man with a ‘No trespassing’ order for a Main Street supermarket report the man is refusing to stop and speak with them, the man called the station and was asked to speak with the officers on hand, the officers report that the man refused to accept the document and was verbally served with the order;
11:28 a.m.: alarm, Sunrise Terrace, an alarm company reports a residential activation, the responding officer reports he arrived to find the front door closed but unlocked, a neighbor said that two men arrived in a van and after trying the doors pried open a side door, the neighbor said that one of the men then used tools he brought with him to repair the damage made when the door was pried open, the neighbor said that the men did not appear to be carrying anything when they left, both the tenant and the landlord were found to be out-of-state but were contacted by phone and both said that nobody was authorized to be in the house, the officer reports that several items of obvious value were found to be in place and undisturbed;
12:57 a.m.: school investigation, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, 33 Smith Ave., a school resource officer reports that a student said that she had been threatened by one student and harassed by another, the SRO reports he reviewed disparaging posts on a social media website and he and an assistant principal spoke with the suspect who was subsequently suspended, the officer reports he spoke with the guardian of the student accused of threatening the complainant and advised her that her granddaughter should bring complaints to the SRO or an administrator instead of making threats;
2:02 p.m.: brush fire, Elizabeth Avenue, a caller reports his backyard is on fire, the responding fire captain reports that a resident who was burning illegally lost control of the fire due to windy and dry conditions, about a quarter acre was charred before firefighters extinguished the fire, the resident was advised of the burning regulations;
2:25 p.m. identity fraud, Pineridge Drive, a resident reports that he attempted to file a tax return and it was rejected because a return had already been filed with his information;
4:04 p.m.: larceny, Crown Street, a resident came to the station to complain that while his son had his drill a friend of his son stole it, the responding officer reports that the man said that he had seen his drill in another person’s vehicle, the officer reports he was unable to immediately contact the suspect;
5:04 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports that a customer’s purse may have been stolen, the responding officer reports the victim said that she had left her purse in her shopping cart and found that it was stolen while she was not looking at it;
7:58 p.m.: liquor law violation, the community policing supervisor reports that a liquor law compliance operation was undertaken at 15 licensed establishments in the city, the SRO reports that at one business the underage volunteer cooperating with the sting was served, the License Commission was notified.
