1:52 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and stopped the car, the operator’s license was found to be suspended, Tasha K. Vachon, 21, of 184 Carrington Road, Montgomery, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for speeding in violation of special regulations;
9:11 a.m.: vandalism, White Street at North Cherry Street, a community policing officer reports a stop sign has been defaced with graffiti, the CPO reports he spoke with the DPW director who agreed to replace the sign promptly;
12:19 p.m.: traffic complaint, Court Street, a patrol officer reports that over a period of about two and a quarter hours he stopped seven vehicles for crosswalk violations;
2:39 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
2:57 p.m.: larceny, Meadow Street, a person came to the station to complain that a person who has his necklace refuses to return it, the responding officer reports the man said that he had been at a friend’s house last November and had inadvertently left behind a necklace valued at $500, the man said that he called his hostess the next day to arrange for the return of the necklace and since then the woman has repeatedly said that she would look for it but has not returned it, the officer reports he was not able to immediately contact the woman;
3:09 p.m.: breaking and entering, Springfield Road, a caller reports her vehicle was broken into and her handicap placard was stolen while it was parked at a Springfield Road department store, the responding officer reports that the woman said that the lock on her car is broken and the car had been unlocked when it was entered and the placard was stolen;
4:50 p.m.: larceny, Paper Mil Road, a caller reports an unauthorized withdrawal from her bank account, the responding officer reports the woman said that an electronic withdrawal was made for an airfare for a foreign airline, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;
7:57 p.m.: disturbance, Park Street, a caller reports two women came to her home and one assaulted her, the responding officer reports the woman said that two women, one of whom she was able to identify, came to her home and one accused her of sleeping with her husband before she grabbed the caller’s throat and choked her, the woman said when she broke free she attempted to call police but the other woman snatched the phone from her hand and threw it into bushes, the officer reports criminal complaints for assault and battery and intimidating a witness were filed.
