Major crime and incident report

Monday, Aug. 22, 2016

11:14 a.m.: Vandalism, Bates Road. Police received a report of vandalism that happened to a home on Bates Road. The siding of the home was struck with paintballs. No witnesses or suspects at the time of the report.

11:21 a.m.: Accident, Elm Street and Franklin Street. A police officer reported that a bicyclist rode into the side of a police vehicle after they allegedly disobeyed a “Don’t Go” at a crosswalk. The cyclist was OK and no citations or arrests were made.

6:38 p.m.: Assault, School Street. Police received a report of an assault that happened, originating at an establishment on Elm Street. According to police, two males brought another male outside and proceeded to assault him due to the victim having allegedly said something about the two assailants’ family member. However, due to the victim’s lack of cooperation, they were unable to positively ID assailants or press charges.

7:58 p.m.: Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, Spruce Street. Police received a report of a vehicle that someone broke into a motor vehicle that was left unlocked and stole a wallet. Since then, the victim’s debit card was used. Police did not give an amount that was lost and did not have any arrests at the time of the report.
