Major crime and incident report
Thursday, August 27, 2015
8:11 a.m.:
vandalism, Stanley Park, 400 Western Ave., Robert McKean called police to report that two benches were maliciously damaged–thrown off a pavilion–and are valued at $1,500 each;
10:22 a.m.: breaking and entering motor vehicle, Pearl Street, a resident reported his unlocked vehicle had been broken into;
11:44 a.m.: accident, 65 Westfield Industrial Park Road, caller reported that on August 20, a FedEx tractor-trailer exiting Camfour had run him off the road, video clearly shows the accident, FedEx allegedly has not been responding to requests for information, caller, who was injured in the accident, is filing report with police;
12:55 p.m.: identity fraud, Klondike Avenue, resident reported that a financial institution notified him of someone trying to make a $7,000 purchase using his account number in Taiwan;
4:34 p.m.: larceny, Elm Street Mobile, 181 Elm St., a caller said she accidentally left her purse in the gas station’s restroom, when she returned to retrieve it, it was gone, she is trying to obtain video footage;
5:46 p.m.: accident, vicinity of Agway – Westfield Farm & Home, Inc. 81 Springfield Road, two car accident, no injuries, no vehicles towed;
8:30 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Northbound routes 10 & 202, 79 Elm St., officer stopped vehicle due to driver side headlight being out, Jonathan Jose Pedraza, 23, of 126 Union St., Apt. #0606, arrested on charges of an outstanding warrant;
9:49 p.m.: accident, 507 Southampton Road, Ronald Baldwin called to report that his 2007 Dodge Dakota had been rear-ended by a 2002 Ford, the driver then drove off, passed him on the right on Southampton Road, turned left onto Egleston Road, and ran off the roadway near 60 Egleston Road, landing in a stream/ditch, Stephen M. Galvin, 49, of 48 Woodside Terrace, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage, no injuries;
9:55 p.m.: burglary/breaking and entering, Kellogg Street, resident reported that she returned home to find all her windows open and it appears that someone had entered her house while she was away.
