7:14 a.m.: Breaking and entering, Prospect Street Extension. Police received a report of a basement that may have been broken into sometime overnight. However, police were unable to give any further information due to sensitivity of case and it being under investigation.

10:38 a.m.: Disturbance, Game Stop, East Main Street. Police received a report of a male who had started a disturbance after there was an issue with an item he purchased. The male reportedly claimed that he had received the incorrect total back for a refund. The male then reportedly struck a computer at the store and then “stormed out” of the building. Police did not arrest him but did file a criminal complaint.

6:58 p.m.: Accident and arrest, Falcon Drive and Southampton Road. Police responded to a two-vehicle accident involving a 200 Toyota 4Runner and a 2005 Toyota Prius. The Prius was at a red light when the 4Runner reportedly crashed into the back of the vehicle. Police reported that the 4Runner operator, John L. Gryszan, 53, of Westfield, allegedly had an odor of alcohol on his breath and he failed field sobriety tests. Police arrested Gryszan and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor–second offense, and operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended–subsequent offense.
