12:38 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle twice veer over the center line and stopped it on Elm Street, the officer reports he observed the classic symptoms of alcohol intoxication and after initially declining to perform a field sobriety test the man attempted and failed one, Nemencio Pinto, 53, of 21 E. Bartlett St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor (a subsequent offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation;
12:29 p.m.: assault, East Mountain Road, a caller reports a home invasion, the responding officers report no home invasion occurred, the investigating officer reports a resident allowed visitors to enter before an altercation developed and the participants provided conflicting accounts of the events, no charges were filed;
2:19 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be suspended, the car was towed to the police impound yard and a criminal complaint was filed;
3:45 p.m.: officer wanted, Court Street, a caller reports a youth is attempting to cash a check but an employee contacted the account owner and found that the check was not authorized, the responding officer reports the account holder said that she and her son are already involved with the juvenile probation system and she will follow up with her case worker, the woman took custody of her son;
6:08 p.m.: officer wanted, Mockingbird Lane, a caller reports that a key to his home was stolen, the responding officer reports that his investigation is incomplete and the resident said he will change the locks;
10:21 p.m.: assist citizen, Springfield Road, a caller reports he has missed the bus and the taxi companies are closed, the woman requested a courtesy transport to Westfield State University, services rendered.
