Major Crime and Incident report

1:41 a.m.:
suspicious activity, Mary Lane, caller reports a vehicle with three occupants parked in driveway, caller went out to confront subjects who had exited the vehicle, subjects ran into a nearby wooded area, officer reports subjects eventually returned to the vehicle and were identified, advised to be on their way;
2:33 a.m.: suspicious activity, Mary Lane, caller reports vehicle parked outside residence, officer located the subjects and again sent them on their way;
8:44 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Franklin Street, patrol officer reports bushes of three residences impending pedestrian movement on sidewalk, officer issued a verbal warning to residents of the three houses to trim the bushes;
8:57 a.m.: downed power line, Westfield Gas & Electric Department notified of the problem;
4:52 p.m.: larceny, Riverside Drive, citizen came to the station to report that she was notified that her bank account had been compromised and used in Nevada, officer reports information taken for report to citizen’s financial institution;
6:26 p.m.: motor vehicle theft, Westfield Plaza, 475 East Main Street, citizen reports returning from grocery shopping and being unable to locate her motor vehicle, officer assisted citizen in locating the vehicle, which the citizen said was not where she had left it, officer inspected ignition for tampering, no evidence of criminal activity found, citizen left with her groceries;
9:15 p.m.: arrest, Whitaker Road, patron officer observed a person known to be the subject of a warrant, Samantha L. Liptak, 32, of 100 Whitaker Road taken into custody on two warrants;
9:42 p.m.: assault, Kellogg Street, man reports being put in a headlock by another man, officer and ambulance dispatched to scene, caller declined medical transport, officer reports caller did not wish to pursue the matter further.
