Major crime and incident report

1:53 a.m.: Hit and run, North Elm Street. Police received a report from a woman who said that her vehicle was hit while she was inside an establishment, and it wasn’t until she came out of the place that she noticed damage to her vehicle. Unknown who hit her vehicle.

2:02 p.m.: Larceny, walk-in. A female party came in to report that medication, coins and bank cards were stolen, and that there has also been account activity on one of the cards. This is related to additional complaints from the same party. No arrests were made at the time of the report.

6:27 p.m.: Found property, Meadow Street. A resident called police to inform them of a bicycle that was left near a dumpster. The bike has been there for about a week.

4:52 p.m.: Motor vehicle plate theft, Phelps Avenue. Police received a report of a vehicle that had its plate stolen off of it. The theft happened sometime within the last 16 hours of the report time. No arrests were made at the time of the report.

6:25 p.m.: Arrest, Meadow Street. Police found two suspects related to the BB gun shooting that happened on July 13 and arrested them. One was a minor and one was Steven M. Raskauskas, 20, of Westfield. Both were charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery and assault and battery bodily injury.

7:51 p.m.: Suspicious person, Sunflower Lane. Police received a report of a male party that attempted to grab a girl and chased her. There were no other witnesses to the incident. Police reported that the girl said she was able to hide and made it home safely. No arrests or other information is available.

9:28 p.m.: Motor vehicle arrest, Noble Street. Police observed a vehicle driving erratically and stopped the operator. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. Antonio Goncalves, 63, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs, third offense, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
