2:18 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Bates Road, a caller reports a vehicle is stuck in a snowbank, the responding officer reports he found a pickup truck with its front buried in a snowbank, the officer reports the operator appeared to be highly intoxicated but declined to attempt a field sobriety test, the officer reports he observed an open container of alcohol in the truck, James M. Tremble, 24, of 94 Goss Hill Road, Huntington, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation;
8:52 a.m.: school investigation, Westfield Middle School South, a school resource officer reports he was advised that a pupil was found to be in possession of a pocket knife, the SRO reports administrative sanctions will be applied;
9:10 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Mountain Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the car’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard, a courtesy transport was provided to an East Main Street address;
11:44 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Grandview Drive, a patrol officer reports he encountered a parked vehicle with registration revoked for lack of insurance, the plates were seized and a note was left for the owner;
12:03 p.m.: vandalism, Woodland Road, a caller reports nonsense letters were written on her front door, the woman said that she believes she can wash off the graffito and does not require a formal report but wants to know if any similar graffiti has been reported, the responding officer reports no similar reports have been filed;
12:58 p.m.: assist other agency, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, 33 Smith Ave., a school resource officer reports the owner of a dance studio told him of concerns for a dance student whose mother may be abusing pain medication, the SRO reports he was advised of suspect behavior at a dance event, a report was filed with the Department of Children and Families;
1:33 p.m.: suspicious advertisement, Old Stage Road, a caller reports he responded to a house rental advertisement and is concerned by the situation, the responding officer reports that a neighbor told him that the owners of the house are deceased, the officer spoke with the putative seller by phone and the man made no convincing explanation before he hung up;
2:28 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street at Columbia Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be suspended, a criminal complaint was filed and the pickup truck was towed to the police impound yard;
4:46 p.m.: annoying phone calls, Montgomery Street, a caller reports his mother has received annoying phone calls from a person who had previously harassed him at his workplace, the officer reports he spoke with the suspect who said that she will desist;
6:37 p.m.: suspicious activity, East Main Street, a caller from an East Main Street bank reports two men presented a note which appeared to demand money but quickly said that they were joking, the caller said that the men appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance and attempted to forge a line of credit, the responding officer reports he spoke with the suspect who said that he had been joking;
7:22 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Arch Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle cross the center line to pass about 20 vehicles stopped at an intersection before making a left turn on to North Elm Street, the vehicle was stopped and the operator said that his license was suspended, Raymond Messier, 35, of 22 Noreen Drive, Southampton, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a marked lanes violation, the car was towed to the police impound yard.
