8:51 a.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, North Road. Police initially stopped a vehicle after an officer reported that they had noted a vehicle that had reportedly matched a description from an alleged hit-and-run accident in April that they investigated. Police found that the operator, Matthew D. Mineau, 34, of Westfield, reportedly had a suspended license, and arrested Mineau and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended. 

9:01 a.m.: Vandalism motor vehicle, Main Line Drive. Police received a report of a vehicle’s tires that were slashed at some point between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. No further information was available at the time of the report. 

10:39 a.m.: Vandalism motor vehicle, Railroad Avenue. Police received a report of tires slashed on a van. No further information was available at the time of the report. 

5:18 p.m.: Motor vehicle accident, Franklin Street. Police received a report of a truck versus motorcycle crash on Franklin Street. The involved motorcycle had reportedly caught fire according to reports, and had to be extinguished by Westfield Fire personnel. Police reported that the motorcyclist was transported to Baystate Medical Center by Westfield Fire personnel for treatment of injuries. See full story in the May 18th Westfield News.

6:19 p.m.: Accident, Washington Street and School Street. Police received a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a 2001 Honda Civic and a 2004 Ford Ranger. Police reported no injuries and no tow trucks were requested.
