2:13 a.m.: Arrest, operating under the influence, Southampton Road. Marcus Houston, 42, of 961 Blandford Road in Russell, was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol. Police reports said they noted Houston initially committing a lane violation on the road, and when they approached Houston’s vehicle they suspected that he was inebriated. Houston was said to have failed a field sobriety test.

9:03 a.m.: Accident, Jefferson Ave. and Washington St. intersection. A 1999 Oldsmobile Bravado and  2002 Chrysler van collided after one of the vehicles pulled into traffic and did not see the other. No injuries were reported.

1:57 p.m.: Accident, Russell Road. A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2005 Toyota Camry had a motor vehicle accident on Russell Road. There were no injuries or airbags deployed.

3:01 p.m.: Accident, Hillside Road and Sunnyside Road. A 2007 Honda Accord and a 2004 Dodge Ram collided, and then one of the vehicles collided with a Westfield Gas and Electric utility pole. No injuries or airbag deployment was noted by police.

3:45 p.m.: Larceny, 514 East Main St., Home Depot. A man walked into the Westfield police station and reported that someone stole tools from the back of his pickup truck. According to police, the man went into Home Depot and when he came out, his tools were missing. No arrests at the time of the report.

7:50 p.m.: Fraud. Person walked into the Westfield police station to report that they received mail from their bank notifying them of fraudulent activity. No arrests or other information was available at the time of the report.
