WESTFIELD–According to city police, a missing teen has been found and is reported safe.
Westfield Police Capt. Michael McCabe reported that David Benitez, 16, was found safe by West Springfield Police on Sept. 22, with his mother notified.
Previously, it was reported that he left his home and was last seen at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 20.
Some residents of Westfield were going to join together on the city’s Green in the Elm Street area and search for the missing teen, but Benitez was found prior to the search’s scheduled start time of 2 p.m. The search was being organized on Facebook.
