There have many, many things printed in the paper that make me want to rant and rave. A couple being the recent appointments to critical positions to people whose only qualification is they have long time experience. Today I again walked by City Hall as I have done many time over the past 30 yrs. Before the work began I thought it was odd that the clock was never right.  (Kinda like some decisions made by our City Fathers). Now that we have spent 3.4 million on a building that probably is not worth 3.4 million the clock is still not right. I am not suggesting we spend 500 hundred thousand to replace it, but it would be nice if it were fixed or removed. Lastly, we had enough of Don Humason haven’t we? Westfield’s City Hall is a nationally registered historic building and the city has an obligation to repair and maintain it. The recent costs to do repairs were worth the investment considering that a new building could easily eclipse $20 million and could be close to $30 million. At the appropriate time, the clock will be repaired or replaced. The work done to date had nothing to do with repairing the clock.
