HUNTINGTON – Southwick’s latest softball outing may have been short, but it was pretty sweet for the Rams.
Emily Lachtara tossed a two-hitter, striking out 10 batters and the Southwick Rams belted 15 hits on the road en route to a 19-0, five-inning win over the Gateway Gators Saturday.
Tori DellaGuistina (3-for-5, two doubles, three RBIs), Sydney Rogers (3-5, triple, 3 RBIs), and Sophia Kelleher (2-3, three RBIs) led the Southwick hit attack.
Gabby Dame and Ava Auclair clubbed the lone hits for Gateway.

BASEBALL
Mitchell, Goodreau propel Rams
Southwick 4, Monument Mountain 1

Andrew Mitchell (4 Ks, 0 BBs) scattered six hits and allowed just one earned run, and Jake Goodreau blasted a 2-run homer to lead Southwick at home in the Coaches for Cancer classic Saturday.
Mitchell also went 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI, Bart Shea drilled a double, and Tyler Orban had a hit.
The Rams also raised $500 for those afflicted with cancer.

BOYS’ LACROSSE
Bombers lose in double OT
Algonquin 9, Westfield 8 (2 OT)

Gentle (4 goals), Chlastawa (2 goals, 3 assists), and Balch (1 goal, 2 assists) led Westfield, which fell just short at home Saturday.
Matt Reynolds finished with 17 assists for the Bombers.
Mitch Weiss, Mario Metallo, Neil Sheehan, and Zach Cree delivered strong defensive efforts for Westfield. Bombers’ Anthony Sullivan had a great all-around game at midfield, with several clears.

JV BASEBALL
Southwick 13, Monument Mountain 5

Southwick’s offense exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to pull away from Monument Mountain.
Miguel Gonzelez (2-for-5, Johnny Cesan (3-for-5), and Josh Sylvia (3-for-4) each had extra base hits, multiple RBIs, and each scored a run in the inning.
For the game, Sam Mizanoglu (3-for-3) and Josh Lis (3-4) also scored two runs and each had an RBI.
Josh Lis pitched five inning for Southwick to earn the victory. Lis finished with nine Ks, two hits, two walks, and allowed one earned run.
