Robert F. Quigley, Jr.

WESTFIELD: Robert F. Quigley, Jr. 91 offlag Westfield passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Friday, November, 20, 2015 at Noble Hospital. He was born in Swanzee, NH. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII at the age of 17. He proudly served on the Destroyer Escort, Howard D. Crow, 252, which was credited for sinking a German U-Boat off the New Jersey coast in 1945. After WWII, he transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves where he retired after 28 years as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He also retired after 45 years at Savage Arms. He is survived by his sister, Beverly Demers, and his children, Sharon Henn, Robert F. Quigley, Jr. and wife, Linda, David Quigley and wife, Rosemary, Donna Makuch, Kenneth Quigley and wife, Michelle, Heidi Quigley and Peter Quigley, his 13 Grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and his former wives, Margaret Quigley and Mary Leavy. His life was filled with many wonderful friends, and he has touched the lives of so many. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 24, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Firtion Adams Funeral Home in Westfield. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 followed by burial at Agawam Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the USS Slater, Destroyer Escort Historical Museum, P.O.
