Robert J. Beavis

Robert J. Beavis, 85, of Westfield passed away on September 27, 2015. Robert wflagas born in Concord, MA on September 30, 1929, the son of the late James Beavis and Tynne Weckstrom Beavis Aho. He was an Army veteran during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Pauline Brodeur of Southbridge, MA on May 13, 1950 and settled in Westfield to raise their family. He was employed by Northeast Utilities and retired after many years from Westfield Gas and Electric Co. as the Superintendent. They moved to Florida in 1982 and returned to Westfield in 2014. Robert loved fishing and animals. He will be remembered as a quiet, intelligent and honest man. He will be deeply missed by his family. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Pauline, along with his 4 children who adored him, Michael & Jean of Mexico, NY (Paris, Cameron & Cameron’s mom Rita Beavis), Mark & Rose of Rochester, NH, Valerie Loiko of Westfield (Kara Douglas, Erik Loiko and Kristen Tetrault), Kathy Sullivan & Mike of Southampton, MA (Jill Cloutier and Hilary Sullivan) and 5 great grandchildren, Nora and Ellie Douglas, Johnny and Robbie Loiko and Lyla Tetrault. He also leave his brothers, David Aho of Sturbridge, MA and Joe Beavis of Feeding Hills, MA. He was predeceased by his step-father Leo Aho. His family would like to thank the staff at Birch Manor and New England Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Robert will be buried at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA. The funeral will be private.
