Sabis stops Southwick

SOUTHWICK – Southwick posted a strong showing in the middle frames of a boys’ volleyball game, avoiding a sweep before falling to visiting Sabis 25-11, 25-22, 20-25, 25-16 Wednesday.

Sabis stormed out to a convincing victory in the first set before narrowly winning the second one by just three points. Facing elimination, Southwick rallied for a five-point win to win the third. The Rams could not force a decisive fifth set.
Andrew Lachtara had a nice all-around game for Southwick. Lachtara recorded five aces, five digs, and 11 assists. Rams’ Nick Chambers (6 digs, 7 kills) and Kacper Kisala (8 digs, 3 assists) also played well.

It was a tough afternoon for the home team.
Westfield’s third singles player Anoushka Sharma and No. 1 doubles pair Emma Macleod and Camille Mchenzie each netted two points apiece in their respective matches.
No. 1 singles’ Clara Hinck and second doubles pair Anna Temchenko and Elizabeth Poteat each finished with one for Westfield.
