Southwick schools host community open house

SOUTHWICK – Residents are invited to an openHouse at the Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional Schools’ Southwick campus on Oct. 8.
The Woodland Elementary, Powder Mill Intermediate, and Southwick Regional 7-12 schools will be open from 4-6 p.m.
Self-guided tours will take place and floor plans of each school will be provided. There will also be refreshments at each school.
School administrators will be present to answer questions
and provide directions and student ambassadors will assist visitors
at the Southwick Regional School.
School administrators stated that the Open House is a celebration that the building project at the Southwick-Tolland-Granville
Regional School District is coming to a conclusion.
“Taxpayers, community members, parents, students and staff all
played a role in the completion of this project and we are grateful
for your support and your patience,” stated the school department in a press release.
The $62 million project encompassed all three schools, creating a more cohesive campus. The high school is now a 7-12 school and the middle school is now an intermediate school for grades four through six. The elementary school now accommodates students in pre-K through grade three.
