WESTFIELD – While there happened to be a lull in the action – all that remained on Tuesday’s sports docket was an American Legion Baseball game featuring Westfield Post 124 – the summer schedule is about to heat up.
On Wednesday, the Babe Ruth Baseball Amanti Cup resumes with a double header at Bullens Field. A loser’s bracket game will begin at 5 p.m., followed by a winner’s bracket contest at 7:30.
Meanwhile, at Jachym Field, Westfield Post 124 will host Belchertown. First pitch is at 5:45 p.m.
On Thursday, Little Leaguers will toss out their first pitches as the District 2 All-Stars Tournament gets under way. Westfield National’s 12-year-old team takes on visiting Easthampton at Papermill Field, beginning at 6 p.m. Westfield American travels to Belchertown in the same age bracket for a night under the lights at Mini Fenway at 7:30.
A heavy slate of games is scheduled for Friday, and will continue throughout the weekend all across Western Massachusetts.
