Tabone tops in pro football contest

Beat the Putz LogoYikes!
I could’ve went 4-7 or 0-11 for that matter and still not come close to that debacle of a Monday night game.
The New England Patriots suffered one of the worst efforts of the Belichick era, a 41-14 thrashing at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs on the Monday night stage. They will attempt to bounce back in this week’s Sunday night tiebreaker game. It will not be an easy task against the Cincinnati Bengals.
At first glance, the other Week 5 matchups appear to be complete mismatches, but don’t underestimate the underdog.
Lou Tabone, of Norfolk, rose up to claim our Week 4 prize, a gift certificate to The Tavern Restaurant in our “Beat ‘The Putz'” pro football contest. Tabone posted a record of 9-2.
Twenty entrants finished 8-3, besting my 7-4 mark to qualify for the grand prize drawing. One thing of note, three of those qualifiers hit the exact tiebreaker total on the nose. Unfortunately, Tabone was head and shoulders above the competition.
Who is the next Tabone? Sunday’s Week 5 results will tell.
