BLANDFORD-Thomas W. Allen, 65, passed away on Friday, December 12th with his family by his side at Baystate Medical Center. Tom was born April 8, 1949 to Thomas E. Allen and Doris E. (Heath) Allen. He was married to Nancy J. Patino for 44 years until her passing in 2013. Tom lived in Blandford all his life. He attended Blandford Elementary and he graduated fromSpringfield Trade School in 1967. He was a Navy Vietnam veteran who served his country proudly and was Past Commander of American Legion Post 356 in Blandford, and a current member of Post 124, Westfield. Tom was a plank owner of the U.S.S. Newport LST 1179. He worked as an electrician for over 30 years at Hamilton Standard/Hamilton Sunstrand and a consultant before and after retirement. This took him all over the world traveling. He loved to travel and attend drag car races with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Doris Allen and his wife Nancy, also his sister, Barbara McMillan of California. He is survived by his son, Gregory Allen of Blandford, his daughter, Jennifer Allen Pensivy and her husband Michael Pensivy and will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Haleigh, Amber & Allen of Peru, MA. He leaves his sister, Sharon Barnard and her husband Ralph of Blandford, three brothers, Jeffrey of Blandford, Todd of Florida and Tracy and his wife Cheri Allen of Blandford. Also, a sister- in-law, Darlene Duga and family of  CT. Tom will be missed by his friends at Wyman and Gorman and J.J. Beck Inc. and his many friends in Blandford. Tom made friends easily and all who knew him enjoyed his company. Calling hours will be 11-1 on Saturday, with funeral services immediately following at Firtion-Adams Funeral Services, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA.
