Westfield man arraigned on child assault charges

WESTFIELD–A Westfield man faces several charges related to sexually assaulting a child.

Dan Pouliot, 36, of 22 Rosedell Dr., was arraigned May 23 on three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. He also faces charges of reckless endangerment, two counts of witness intimidation and one count of a threat to commit a crime, all according to court records. He was arrested by Westfield Police.

Court records indicated Pouliot is currently under house arrest and is forbidden to be in contact with the alleged minor victim, the alleged victim’s mother or to have any contact with children under 18.

According to the police report within the court records, Pouliot is accused of sexually assaulting the alleged victim, a child between 11 to 12 years old at the time, on “three separate occasions,” between the fall of 2014 and Jan. 2015. He is also accused of threatening the victim and her mother.

Pouliot is due back in court July 11, for a pretrial hearing.
