Westfield National dominates Longmeadow

Westfield National 10, Longmeadow 0

Westfield National put the mercy rule in effect on Saturday morning with a 10-0 victory in four innings over Longmeadow in the Little League Baseball District 2 Tournament.

Jake Jachym led the way offensively for Westfield National, going (3-for-3, 5 RBIs).

“Jake was outstanding,” said Westfield National manager Jim Cloutier. “He’s one of the hottest hitters in the tournament right now.”

Jachym’s teammate, Cam Hoynoski, pitched all four innings on the mound, giving up just one hit while registering eight strikeouts.

“He’s a big game pitcher and he got it done once again for us,” said Cloutier.

Westfield National improves to 1-1 in the tournament and will play three more games starting next week.
