On Saturday Westfield matched up against Holy Name in a must win game. In the first period the Jr. Bombers got on the board first on an Evan Michellucci goal, assisted by Paul Lawry. Holy Name would score in the late first period knotting the score at one, after one. Holy Name added their second goal of the game in the early second period until Joey Roselli added an unassisted goal for the Jr. Bombers. Holy Name scored their third goal of the game as period two came to a close giving them a 3-2 edge. In the third Westfield pulled away from Holy Name starting with an unassisted breakaway goal by Paul Lawry tying the game at three. Joey Roselli added Westfield’s fourth goal with an assist from Paul Lawry and Rick Moritko added the Jr. Bombers fifth goal with an assist from Joey Roselli. Westfield held on for the 5-3 victory and ended the season 13-9-2. Sawyer King was outstanding in net making 21 saves. Congratulations to entire team on a great season. Michael Pelletier, Rick Moritko, Brandon Houle, Blake Cavallon, David Forest, Joey Roselli, Sawyer King, Kaitlyn Ondrick, Evan Michellucci, Jesse Spear, Brannon Miele, and Paul Lawry.

On Saturday Westfield met up with WTM in their second meeting of the season. Westfield got on the board first late in period one when Brannon Miele scored on a pass from Rick Moritko giving Westfield a one goal lead after one. After a second period which neither team scored a goal, Westfield jumped all over WTM in the early third period on back to back Rick Moritko goals, one assisted by Joey Roselli giving Westfield a 3-0 lead. Jesse Spear would add Westfield’s fourth goal with an assist from Joey Roselli and securing the victory for the Jr. Bombers. The Westfield defense was outstanding in the victory and Sawyer King was great in net making 14 saves.

Westfield 4, Ludlow 3

On Sunday Westfield matched up against third place Ludlow at Olympia. Westfield jumped out to an early one-goal lead when Rick Moritko back handed a Brannon Miele pass past the Ludlow goalie. In the late first Michael Pelletier made a quick outlet pass to Rick Moritko leading to Westfield’s second goal and a 2-0 lead after one. In the second Ludlow scored back to back goals to tie the game at two before Rick Moritko completed the hat-trick with an assist from Kailyn Ondrick giving Westfield a 3-2 lead after two. To start the third Ludlow once again came up with a game-tying goal to knot things up at three. The third period was a defensive battle until with seconds remaining Rick Moritko tipped a Brannon Miele shot in the Ludlow net giving the Jr. Bombers a 4-3 victory. The Westfield defense was outstanding in the win and Sawyer King was amazing between the pipes making 22 saves. – Courtesy of Westfield Youth Hockey Association
