Throughout the month of October, the WG&E held a Coats for Kids drive to benefit the Westfield Salvation Army. Employees and customers were asked to look through their closets and consider donating any new or gently used winter wear to benefit those that might be in need of cold-weather outerwear. This year members of the Peer Leadership Club at the South Middle School also joined this initiative. Collectively, over 100 items of winter wear, including jackets, snow pants, hats, mittens and scarves were delivered to the Salvation Army location on Arnold Street, just in time to replenish their empty racks. The Westfield Chapter will continue to accept donations at this location throughout the next few months as the need is great. Thanks to all who donated to this worthwhile cause! It will warm the hearts (and bodies) of those who benefit from your kindness.
