WSU 4th at LEC Championships

LEC LOGONORTH DARTMOUTH – Westfield State freshman Monique Groux (Agawam/Agawam, Mass.) placed second in both 1-meter and 3-meter diving to lead the Westfield State efforts at the Little East Conference Championships at the Tripp Athletic Center at UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday.
The Owls placed fourth at the seven-team meet with 141 points. Keene State won the team title with 625.5 points.
Groux’s score of 207.20 in the 3-meter diving placed her second behind UMass Dartmouth’s Kendra Hebert. Groux totaled 187.80 in the 1-meter diving, again finishing second behind Hebert.
The Owls’ 200 medley relay team of Alex Frazier, Tia Pariseau (St. Peter Marian/Holden, Mass.), Haylee McQuay (Dartmouth/Dartmouth, Mass.) and Anna Boucher (Suffield/Suffield, Conn.) finished fourth with a time of 2:01.15.
Boucher picked up a fifth place finish in the 100 backstroke and a sixth in the 50 freestyle. Pariseau took home a fifth place finish in the 100 breaststroke.
Westfield will be back in action February 12-14 at the NEISDA championships which are held at the University of Rhode Island.
