Yes I was wondering does the city still have a tree warden and it seems that They should have somebody In charge that was going around and check these trees with their limbs that are ready to fall off, whatever, it may stop a lot of trees coming down and a branch that takes out a power line which means that people in a certain area are going to be off electricity. You can see when a tree should be taken down. There’s no leaves on the branches and they are ready to fall down anyway so they should get on the ball and start thinking about the future with storms that could be coming with summer and stop a lot of this if you want power you should be able to have it thank you.
Dear Pulse Line, I was walking in front of Pine Hill Cemetery, the one by Highland school as I do every day, and saw a worker marking off trees with red spray paint. I asked him what he was doing, and he informed me that the sidewalk was going do be redone, and all the trees were to be chopped down. Yes, all of them, from the majestic 200-year-old oaks to the newly planted trees. Personally, I would rather have a broken sidewalk and the trees than a redone sidewalk with no trees. I hope something can be done about this. The Westfield News got the following information: Mayor Sullivan, City Engineer Mark Cressotti, Mary O’Connell (Ward 4 City Councilor) and Andrew Surprise (Ward 3 City Councilor) will be walking Western Ave tomorrow to visually inspect the trees that may be impacted with the upcoming Western Avenue reconstruction work. On Wednesday, a consultant went out and marked those trees with red caution tape (no paint whatsoever was used) so residents could start to identify those trees. For every tree removed , two will be planted. None of this work will happen for the next two years, as this is when the project will start.
